Our Staff and Board of Directors

The Nature Museum has a great staff as well as an active Board of Directors, all of whom are dedicated to the success and growth of the Nature Museum.

Lillian Willis, Executive Director
Lillian joined the Museum in January 2009 with past experience in nonprofit management, communications and marketing, publishing, volunteer recruitment and training, and environmental education.  She oversees all aspects of the Museum and has a BA in English.

Betsy Bennett Stacey, Director of Education
Betsy has worked for The Nature Museum at Grafton since 2001. She is the Curator for the Museum, as well as a Naturalist Educator. She holds a MS in Museum Studies with a focus in Zoology and a BA in Biology and Art.

Lynn Morgan, Naturalist Educator
Lynn has held a number of both paid and volunteer positions with the Museum since 1998. Lynn has a Masters in Environmental Studies and has been a classroom teacher at the Elementary, Middle School, and High School level.

2009 Board of Directors

Laurie Danforth, President
Laurie has been an active volunteer in environmental education for over a decade.  She began as an assistant naturalist and board member for Seven Ponds Nature Center in Dryden, Michigan.  When Laurie moved to Vermont she found that the Nature Museum at Grafton was a perfect match for her interests in furthering an appreciation for all things natural and for her love of gardening.  She enjoys all aspects of her volunteer work from designing the wildlife garden to making critter costumes to leading nature camps to board governance. 

Will Danforth, Treasurer
A retired bank financial officer, Will serves as Treasurer of the board. He works closely with the Museum accountant and Executive Director. Will is also a professional musician and he lives in Grafton, VT.

Molly Leuschel, Vice President
A marketing specialist, Molly worked for many years in the international division of Nike. She currently lives in Grafton, VT.

Noralee Hall, Secretary
Noralee is the current manager of the Daniels House Cafe, a division of The Old Tavern and Windham Foundation. In addition to the Museum board, she serves as the board President of the Grafton Promotional Association. She is an avid gardener and outdoor enthusiast who lives in Chester, VT.

Sue Nostrand, Shop Coordinator
A former teacher, Sue worked with students from preschool through sixth grade. She is an avid program coordinator and volunteer focusing on natural history education and children's camps. She lives in Chester, VT

Summer Staff

We are fortunate to have exceptional assistance this summer from four people whose skills should greatly benefit the Fish Ladder, Museum, and Grafton Ponds.

Stephen Dialessi, this summer's Fish Ladder Intern, is attending Antioch New England Graduate School. He has a B.S. in Environmental Biology and experience as a Park Ranger and Camp Counselor. He will be working on exhibits, public programming, and
camps.

Janet Jefferson, also a student at Antioch New England, holds a B.A. in
Biology with a concentration in Environmental Science and is our Summer Camp Intern. She has impressive field experience, has been an educator for VINS, taught skiing at Stratton, and is a Wilderness First Responder.

Jay Fisher, is pursuing a Master's in Environmental Science at Antioch and returns as our environmental educator with the Grafton Ponds Environmental Adventure Camps. He has experience as a wilderness trip leader and in presenting programs to the public.

Kate Buckman is our visitor services representative this summer. She will be covering the front desk at the Museumin July and August. She recently graduated with a Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography from a joint MIT/Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Program in Oceanography.
