Bread and Puppet Theater will headline the Pale Blue Dot Parade through Grafton. The performers are looking for 20-30 people of high school age and up (minimum 9th grade) to help them in the parade. These volunteers must wear all white with no graphics on plain shirts or long pants; should be available between 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm to help unload the Bread and Puppet tour bus and then pack things up at the end. This may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for high school students and adults, so contact Museum Board Member Melissa Post at goodwood@vermontel.net for more information and to make a firm commitment as soon as possible. We would like early commitments so we can let Bread and Puppet know they will have sufficient volunteers to make a good parade.
The performers will be joined by young junk musicians, and everyone else is invited to join this people's procession for the planet.
Based in Glover, Vermont, Bread and Puppet Theater proudly bills itself as "Cheap Art and Political Theater." With their huge puppets made of papier maché and cardboard, the troupe entertains audiences around the globe. In 2009, Bread and Puppet Theater won the New England Art Awards "Critic's Choice" for Best Performance or Spectacle in New England.
