Five notable speakers and authors from around New England will address a range of topics designed to appeal to a variety of interests and ages. Each speaker will present a 40-minute talk, followed by questions and answers.

Don McCormickDon McCormick is the creator and contractor for the groundbreaking Brattleboro Renewable Energy and Agriculture Project. Carbon Harvest Energy, LLC, develops methane gas-to-energy projects integrated with agricultural systems that convert waste and pollutants into valuable green products for the community.


Eden Arising: Ecological Design and The Inner Landscape

Dave JackeDave Jacke is the owner of Dynamics Ecological Design Associates and a longtime permaculture teacher and designer. He is the author of Edible Forest Gardens, a comprehensive two-volume book on ecological garden design.

John-Connell.jpgConnell is an internationally recognized licensed architect, and the founder of both Yestermorrow Design/Build school in Warren, VT, and 2morrow Studios, LLC, which was established to practice true "design/build" and provide service to the surrounding community. The company mission is to design/build (make) art, architecture, environments, and educational situations that promote higher awareness of human behavior within the natural environment.

John-Bramley.jpgAfter beginning his career as a research scientist in the United Kingdom, John moved to Vermont in 1990 to become the chair of the Animal Sciences Department at the University of Vermont. He later served as Provost, Senior Vice President, and Acting President at the University of Vermont before moving to Grafton in 2008 to become President of The Windham Foundation.

No One Can Do Everything but Everyone Can Do Something - Change the World Kids

1:00 pm - Phebe Meyers - at The Homestead Room

PhebeMeyers.jpegA 2008 Brower Youth Awards winner, Phebe Meyers co-founded Change the World Kids in Woodstock, VT, with her sister when she was eight years old and swiftly involved more "kids."   Over the years this energetic group of young people, predominantly of middle- and high-school age, has grown; became a nonprofit organization in 2003; and has chapters forming across the United States and beyond.  The stated mission is to make "the world a better place by working without charge to help individuals in our community and organizations and environments all over the world."
