Nature Journaling In The Classroom - Taking It to the Next Level

Fee: Free for Nature Journaling and Nature Writing Summer Educator Institute alums, $10 for all other educators
Teachers will gather to share trials and triumphs in the classroom in relation to nature and literacy and to discuss how their current goals in nature education were achieved or what boundaries there were to achieving goals. The second focus of the workshop will be practice with inquiry field science, especially in terms of forming testable inquiry questions and getting students to practice with the type of language that they may encounter in the NECAP science exams, or in general in their future as science students. Other components of the workshop will include natural science information for the upcoming winter season and how journals can be used in the classroom to understand winter adaptations and tracking. Directions to the school program site will be given upon registration.
