The Whole Family

We create opportunities for families to discover and appreciate nature together; falling in step with the unharried pace of the natural world is a simple way to relax and enjoy each other's company. Our largest event for the whole family is our famous Fairy House Tour Festival, but we strive to add new programming and events each year that appeal to little kids, big kids, and their parents.

Events & Programs for the Whole Family

Kindred Spirits
All ages | Year around
This monthly Saturday program is designed to build a greater understanding between all creatures of the Earth by exploring the mysteries of nature. By offering a shared experience that draws families together, participants will develop a stronger kinship with our Earth and each other. Programs will take place rain or shine, with hands-on activities both indoors and out. All ages welcome.

Fairy House Festival
All ages | Held the last weekend in September
Since 2008, we've celebrated our annual Fairy House Festival as an opportunity for people of all ages to interact directly with the Vermont landscape, expressing their creativity while fostering a deeper relationship with the natural world.

Herricks Cove Festival
All ages | Held the first Sunday in May
We are proud partners of the Herricks Cove Festival, a community-wide nature festival that takes place the first Sunday in May each year in Rockingham, Vermont. It is a special opportunity to celebrate wildlife with live animal demonstrations, crafts, workshops, vendors, food and more.

Summers at the TransCanada Bellows Falls Visitor Center
All ages | Open Memorial Day-Labor Day
Visit the TransCanada Bellows Falls Visitor Center to learn more about the Connecticut River watershed, the salmon and other fish that use the fish ladder, and the river's many plants and animals. We will announce the lineup for summer programming there in the spring.
