December Mighty Acorns Test

Date: Thursday, February 22, 2018 (Snow Date: Friday, February 23rd)
Time: 10:00am-3:00pm
Ages: Ages 6-9
Cost: $25 if registered by February 7th; $30 after
Location: The Nature Museum

Brave Bears includes fun, hands-on indoor and outdoor experiences that cultivate a deeper relationship with the natural world. Youth will make new friends while learning about animals that live in Vermont– their winter adaptations and how humans track them - before embarking on a snowshoeing adventure in the forest and field, collecting clues left in the snow by wild animals. Campers will practice snowshoeing skills through entertaining games and a scavenger hunt.

Kids should bring a hearty, bagged lunch, snack, and a water bottle carried in a backpack and they should wear appropriate winter clothing and gear. Campers will need their own snowshoes. The Nature Museum can loan snowshoes for participants who do not have their own; please email Caitlin at caitlin@nature-museum.org to borrow a pair. Just ask!

In case of inclement weather, this program will be rescheduled for Friday, February 23rd.

If you have any questions, please feel encouraged to reach out! Scholarships for this program are available. Please inquire about multiple day or sibling discounts as well by emailing Caitlin Holden @ caitlin@nature-museum.org.

This program is also being offered on Wednesday, February 21st. A program for older kids, Wild Walkers, will take place on Monday, February 19th.
