Judith Schwartz, well-known author of Cows Save the Planet and Water in Plain Sight: Hope for a Thirsty World, will be The Nature Museum’s featured speaker on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. Schwartz will present a program entitled, “Climate Solutions In Plain Sight: The Role of Water".
Following her presentation, Schwartz will lead a Q&A session with the audience. She will be available after the session to sign and sell copies of her books.
Conversations about climate and water tend to focus on how climate change could threaten water resources and intensify floods and droughts. What’s missing has been an understanding of how water affects climate: specifically, the opportunities we have to work with the water cycle to support ecosystem processes that help regulate climate. In this presentation, author Judith D. Schwartz will give examples from around the world of water innovators and share why understanding how water works—how it moves across the landscape and through the atmosphere—can help us address our many environmental challenges.
