Date: Thursdays, October 5, 2017 through December 21, 2017
Ages: Open to all elementary students; recommended for grades 1-5
Cost: Free for GES students.
This program's cost ($70 per child) is waived for Grafton Elementary School students thanks to a scholarship provided by Dick Warren, a founder of The Nature Museum.
The Nature Museum is excited to lead Grafton Elementary School's Nature Club every Thursday after dismissal. Nature Club's mission is to inspire youth to get outdoors, help wildlife, and become more aware of the nature in their neighborhood and community. A partnership between The Nature Museum and Grafton Elementary School, this weekly after school outdoor adventure is best suited for children in grades 1-grade 5, but all elementary students are welcome. First priority is given to Grafton Elementary School students, but other children from other schools or educational backgrounds are welcome to sign up.
This program will meet weekly afterschool on Thursdays and will take place in the woods and fields around the Grafton Elementary School and The Nature Museum. This program will be led by Senior Environmental Educator Jay DeGregorio; Jay will meet the group in the Grafton Elementary School lobby upon school dismissal and the group will be picked up at The Nature Museum at 4:15 p.m.
Parents are required to complete a medical emergency form when enrolling their child(ren) for this program with The Nature Museum. Please send this form to Caitlin Holden (email@example.com) in advance or bring it with you on the first day your child attends.
We hope that Nature Club participants come away from this program with increased self-confidence, teamwork skills, and an improved knowledge of self, nature, and community.
