Do you smile at the first sounds of the winged harbingers of spring like the red winged black bird or the American Woodcock?  Does the chirp of a chickadee stop you in your tracks? Join us for a spring tune-up just in time for bird migration season when The Nature Museum teams up with Bridget Butler, The Bird Diva, to provide a unique birding program!

Butler will present "Bird is a Verb" on Thursday, April 27, at 7 p.m. at NewsBank Conference Center at 352 Main Street in Chester, VT.  Light refreshments will be served.  

Program Details

An estimated 5.8 million people in the United States bird-watch. This lively program full of gorgeous bird song and useful tips will have you tuned into the bird world around you like never before. Butler will share tips and tricks for bird identification, talk about equipment & resources, teach participants about birding by ear, and describe various natural communities for different suites of birds. Bridget Butler, aka "The Bird Diva", invites you to become one of the "flock" by discovering the pleasure of one of the most popular pastimes in the country.

About Bridget Butler

Bridget has been a naturalist for more than 20 years, playing matchmaker for our wildscape here in Vermont and the people who call this place home. Her mission is to tap into each person's innate passion for nature through exploration and deep listening. Butler is heard on VPR's biannual Bird Show on Vermont Edition. She is the former Conservation Education Specialist at ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center in Burlington. She also appears weekly on WPTZ NewsChannel 5 to discuss natural history and environmental topics.
