On Saturday, May 20th, Bob Engel, the museum’s educator extraordinaire, will team up with Laurie Danforth, board president, to lead an intimate bird walk in Grafton during the height of spring migration. The group will gather at a private Grafton home before heading out to bird. The group will return to home base where guests are invited to refortify with delicious brunch refreshments and hearty conversation.
Bob is a Professor Emeritus from Marlboro College where he taught biology and environmental science for over 30 years and inspired students to tap into their innate passion for nature. Bob is fun, informative, and energized by helping everyone from beginners to experienced “twitchers” deepen their enjoyment of birds through song and sight identification. This immersion will help deepen your connection to nature and make every walk more magical. Laurie Danforth is our board president and a longtime birder and lover of all things that chirp.

This experience is geared to adults (beginners are urged to join us) and is limited to 10 participants. Participants should be prepared for slightly hilly terrain at a slow nature lover’s pace and should bring a water bottle and binoculars. Come with questions and leave with answers! We have a number of binoculars available for participants to borrow. Please contact Carrie King, carrie@nature-museum.org if you would like to reserve a pair.
