Join us at the nature museum to learn about common invasive plant species across our region that exist on the museum’s property. These include…

Burning bush/winged euonymus
Glossy & common buckthorn
Multiflora rose
Asiatic bittersweet
Reed canary grass
The beginning of this program will take place in the Danforth Pavilion where we will learn about the basics invasive plants with accompanying slides and photos. For the invasives management portion of the program, we will be exploring surrounding natural areas and get our gloves dirty! We will be cutting, pulling, and removing some of these invasive plants for those who are willing and able.
Gloves and tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. If you will be helping out with this management work, please be sure to wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and sturdy/comfortable shoes.
This program will happen rain or shine! Registration is strongly encouraged.
