Join us at Giant Journey Farm for this hands-on workshop!
Participants will first learn about healthy soil — what it is, how to achieve it, and its important connection to the climate. Then, everyone will roll up their sleeves and get into the dirt in a Soil Science Fair where we'll learn ways to measure and observe the health of the soil with first hand demonstrations. Walk away with a deeper understanding of the ground beneath our feet and how you can make a difference in your own backyard.
Participants of all ages are welcome to attend. The program will take place outdoors, rain or shine.
About the Presenters
Giant Journey Farm is owned and operated by Rick Burke and Seren Dias.
Rick has over 20 years commercial farming experience and has specialized in greenhouse crops, animal husbandry, and construction. Seren has a decade in organic commercial farming and specializes in the geeky side of soil health as well as non-conventional agricultural styles, food justice and sovereignty, and teaching. They are a Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) farm and coordinate with Vermonter for a New Economy.
