Share a fascinating morning of interactive learning and live animals with your family! The Nature Museum, in partnership with The Southern Vermont Natural History Museum and The Grafton Inn, is proud to present “Vermont Wildlife: The Working Landscape Edition.” This program focuses on Vermont wildlife with an historic twist! To introduce the wildlife program, musician and singer Will Danforth will regale the audience with nature songs before leading a round of “Happy Earth Day.”

Travel through time by learning about the history of Vermont with a special look at events that shaped the way we use the land around us.  Live animal ambassadors will serve as example species as we look at how different events in our history changed the land and the species that could live on it.  A multi-media presentation and plenty of discussion will support the animal encounters. Wildlife expert Mike Clough of The Southern Vermont Natural History Museum will bring live birds and animals, touchable artifacts, and interactive demonstrations to make this an unforgettable experience.

Stick around to enjoy a piece of Earth Day cake with The Nature Museum and Mike Clough, who will stay to answer questions. All are invited to then take a short walk to explore and enjoy The Nature Museum’s exhibits and interactive spaces.

The Nature Museum is dedicated to providing programs and speakers for adults related to biology, earth science and natural history. Most importantly, the museum fosters discovery-learning programs to engage youth in the wonders of nature and develop the next generation of earth stewards. As such, the museum is delighted to offer free registration for this to children aged 5 and up. This program is not geared for younger children.
