Registration is encouraged
Participation by sliding-scale donation
In this interactive program you’ll have a chance to satisfy your curiosity about the weird and wonderful world of taxidermy as we demystify this creative process. Our Environmental Educator and taxidermy apprentice, Sam, will start by introducing participants to the art of taxidermy through history, share photos of her work, and tell stories of some Nature Museum mounts that are used to enhance our educational programs. Then she will demonstrate some of the methods, tools, and processes that she uses to bring new life to her specimens today.
Registration is requested for this event, but walk-ins are welcome. Participation is by sliding-scale donation with a free option. This program is geared towards adults but is open to all ages. The program will feature images of animal remains in various stages of the taxidermy process.
